1 cup dry SPLIT red lentils, uncooked
1 cup pure water
1 clove garlic, halved
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. onion granules
½ tsp dried basil
½ tsp dried oregano
¾ tsp sea salt
Choice of sauce and lots of veggie toppings.

Soak lentils in blender container for 1-3 hours in the water. Do not drain. Preheat oven to 425º Line a 12″ round pizza tray with parchment paper or silicone sheet. Two are needed. Start with parchment if you have only one round silicone sheet.

After soak time, add the remaining ingredients to high-powered blender and process until completely pureed. Pour the mixture on prepared pizza tray and spread it out as evenly as possible, using a long spatula.

Bake for 9 minutes. If you note the crust bubbling, use long spatula or potato masher to pat it down. After 9 minutes, carefully flip the dough onto silicone sheet or second sheet or parchment, remove the parchment paper and return to the oven for 5 more minutes until the crust is nicely golden.

Top your pizza as desired and bake for a 5-7 minutes longer (monitor the bottom to prevent burning). Then remove from the oven and let rest for 1-2 minutes before slicing. Do not overbake or crust will become “dry.”

For heart shaped pizza: Cut parchment paper a little larger than heart shaped pans with close to the same surface area as a 12” pizza pan. Trace around the pan onto the parchment and cut it a half inch larger than the traced pan, cutting in to the center at the top of the heart right to the traced mark. Fit the parchment into the pans and carefully spread the lentil mixture evenly over the heart pan. After the first baking time, flip the crust out of the heart shaped pan onto a parchment or silicone covered tray. Return to oven to finish baking the crust prior to topping and returning to oven for third time.

Homemade Pizza Sauce

1 jar Bionaturae tomato paste
1 t. dried minced onions or 1 T. finely chopped onion
2 T. Frontier Pizza Seasoning 2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1-2 of the paste jars of water to desired thickness.
Real Salt to taste

Heat a small sauce pan over medium-high heat until a drop of water sizzles. Add the onions, after a minute, add a couple tablespoons of water and pizza seasoning, followed by garlic. As it starts to sizzle add the tomato paste. Mix well. Stir in 1 jar of water and Real Salt to taste as well as the crushed red pepper flakes if desired as well as much of the second. If you keep it on the thicker side, it will not make the crust soggy. Simmer while you make the pizza crust.
